Poetry Reading Challenge: 2017

A year spent immersed in verse — one collection after another, tracing the thread from Romanticism to the present.

Throughout 2017, this blog participated in the Poetry Reading Challenge, working through volumes by classic and contemporary poets alike. The challenge offered a structure for sustained attention: reading deeply rather than widely, returning to poems until they yielded their music.

Posts from that year reflect encounters with Keats's odes, Larkin's clipped melancholy, and Glück's unsparing clarity — each read through the lens of a reader growing older alongside the poems.
